Module Assets

Assets & Tooling

Connect tooling, equipment, and calibration records with dependent work.

Example buyer problem

Teams discover equipment and tooling constraints after dependent work has already been planned or committed.

Asset & Tooling Management

Assets & Tooling connects the equipment and tools used by an operation with their readiness records and the work that depends on them. Teams can retain the context behind a calibration result or tool verification decision instead of relying on a separate reminder or an undocumented handoff.

A measuring instrument may need current calibration evidence. A launch program may depend on a tool verification result. A proposed component or process change may affect linked tooling that needs review before the work proceeds.

What you can activate

Equipment records and calibration workflows provide a place to manage the supported equipment subjects, due activity, results, and associated history. Tooling information can connect with product and operational records. Configured gated procurement includes tool readiness and verification checks where the program requires them.

The implementation defines the equipment scope, responsible people, and evidence needed for a readiness decision. A recorded due date or a linked tool does not by itself establish that equipment is suitable for every use. Applicability and acceptance remain part of the configured quality and operating process.

Workflow patterns

  • Maintain calibration context: Keep equipment identity, calibration activity, and recorded results together so reviewers can understand the basis of the current state.
  • Verify a required tool: Connect the tool verification result to a procurement program whose next stage depends on that evidence.
  • Review a change: Examine supported tooling relationships when a product, process, or component change is proposed.
  • Assign follow-up work: Use the related work and quality workflows to manage the actions that a readiness review identifies.

How it connects

Work Execution provides the operational work context. Inventory & Logistics supports related material handling. Change Governance carries the proposed change and review decisions, while Impact Intelligence can expose supported dependencies for human review.

Agree which information must be available to the people approving dependent work and how updates reach them.

Start with one readiness decision

Choose one equipment class or tooling program, define its acceptance evidence, and connect it to the work it supports. Establish how overdue activity, failed results, and changed requirements are handled. Expand into other asset families once those responsibilities and review paths are clear.

Capabilities

What this module enables.

Module-wide controls

  • Maintain equipment and tooling context alongside dependent operational records.
  • Track calibration records, results, and due work for supported equipment subjects.
  • Use configured tool verification requirements within staged procurement workflows.
  • Bring linked tooling dependencies into change and impact review.

Example workflows

  • Calibration review for equipment used in controlled work
  • Tool verification before a configured procurement stage advances
  • Review of linked tooling dependencies during an operational change

Expansion path

Start narrow, then expand with proof.

Start with the equipment or tooling family that creates the clearest readiness problem, then connect its records to work, quality, and change workflows.
